Description

The We Are Islanders Quilted Ida Skirt is cut from fine woven organic bamboo silk that has been hand painted. With silk quilting detail, and a waistband of salmon suede in sunshine yellow this is a bright and pretty piece for the summer.

The use of analogue painting and print methods are informed by the idea of fluidity, inspired by a constant movement and a challenge of the static. The print embodies movement but carries structure in a classic a-line shape. This technique results in completely unique markings creating one-of-a-kind garments that tell their own story. The printing technique we use to to create these fabrics result in completely unique markings. While the fabric and shape remains consistent, the image shown should be taken as a guide to the piece as markings and colour tones will vary.
