Deriving inspiration from the foundations laid out by the iconic Norwegian painter Edvard Munch, Dublin raised bronze casting sculptor Rowan Gillespie – through his use of figures both delicate and jarring – has brought to life some of the most revered individuals in Irish history (‘Yeats’ of 1989) and some of the most harrowing moments (‘Famine’ of 1997).
